I came across Tim as I was walking by the library; he was deeply appreciative for the two Blessing bags that he received for him and his friend. Our conversation lasted well over 30 minutes as I was intrigued by all of the things that happened in his life that led to him being in Orlando. We discussed his time in the military and how he was previously an Army Ranger. He then told me how his time in the service was great, since he had many great experiences until he was discarded in 1991. I was surprised when he explained the story of why he was discharged. Since he told me he had two brothers, which were both in the service also. Come to find out, one brother was in the Army Ranger as well and his other brother was in the Marines. He explained that he had to be discharged since his brothers lost their lives in the line of duty and he was the last living member in his family to carry on his name.
When I asked what advice he could give to someone, he said “Have faith in God. God gives me angles every day and makes sure I get fed, although I still pray for the children every day. Since they are the future and I hope they never have to suffer what I have gone though.”
